House passes the John R. Justice Prosecutors and Defenders Incentive Act of 2007.

On May 15, the House passed H.R. 916, the John R. Justice Prosecutors and Defenders Incentive Act of 2007. The bill directs the Attorney General to assume the obligation to repay the student loans of lawyers who agree to remain employed for at least three years as prosecutors on the state or local level or as public defenders in criminal cases on the state, local, or federal level.
