LOUIS, a beta project of the Sunlight Foundation, offers one-stop searching of over 300,000 documents from seven sets of federal documents dating back to 2001. Even better – you can set up RSS feeds alerting you to new documents mentioning your keywords.
As described in the Foundation’s June 14 press release, LOUIS allows simultaneous searching of four sets of Congressional documents — Bills and Resolutions, Reports, Hearings, and the Congressional Record — plus GAO Reports, Presidential Documents (including Executive Orders) and the Federal Register. You can also search each type of document separately, or in any combination. The database is updated daily via download from the Government Printing Office.
