In a dispute involving the ownership of virtual property, Judge Robeno, of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in his ruling against defendants’ motion to dismiss for lack of jurisdiction, found “while the property and the world where it is found are ‘virtual,’ the dispute is real.”
The plaintiff brought suit in Federal District Court against the defendants, operators of the virtual world Second Life, seeking to regain access to his virtual property after its confiscation by the defendants.
