Law Library Knitters Raise $2200 for Public Interest

image Yeah, we knit.

Go ahead, stereotype all you want, but we knit for a good cause – and the beautiful afghan produced by 23 librarians and paraprofessional library staff went for $2200 at last night’s Public Interest “Caution! – Auction.” Making the mohair/wool blend afghan (including a crocheted border and the three matching pillows) took by one estimate, around 300 hours of donated time and over $200 in materials. The afghan was designed by a reference librarian, and reflects the architectural details of H.H. Richardson’s Austin Hall (where the auction was held), as well as referencing design elements of Hauser and Langdell. It was accompanied by a handmade book of pictures and descriptions by the afghan’s creators.
