The Law Library is pleased to announce a new service in support of our community’s statistical and empirical research needs. Through a special arrangement with the Harvard MIT Data Center ( a part of the Institute for Quantitative Social Science), extended statistical consulting services are being offered to HLS students and faculty.
The staff statistical consultant, Nealia Khan, assisted by the IQSS Postdoctoral Data Fellows, and in consultation with the Senior Research Scientist, can provide you with:
• help getting started with statistical software programs, such as Stata, SAS, or SPSS
• help with finding and using data sources
• an introduction to basic statistical analyses
• an introduction to data manipulation
• advice on setting up advanced statistical analyses
• general statistical advice
The consultants normally are available:
• During drop-in office hours at the Law School Library – Areeda Hall 518, Mondays 10-1pm, Thursdays 1-5
• During drop-in office hours at FAS – CGIS room S306 (1730 Cambridge St.) M-F 4-5pm

• By appointment during Harvard business hours
Consultants also periodically teach workshops on statistical software, and are available for presentations in classes upon request.
In addition a computer lab, computer equipped training room, Dataverse Network accounts, and research computing environment accounts are available for projects that require:
• specialized statistical software
• research data archiving
• computer intensive class sections
• high-performance computing
