“Law Books in Fancy Dress” Open House

Kyle Courtney and Brian Sutton view the exhibit.

Today from 10 to 11 am the Harvard Law School Library’s Historical & Special Collections hosted an open house in the Caspersen Room to showcase their new exhibit of beautiful book bindings, “Law Books in Fancy Dress.”  The items in the exhibit represent a number of different binding techniques and include books bound with many different materials. In addition to the books themselves, the exhibit also includes a host of fascinating information about the books and their bindings.

This exhibit was curated by Karen Beck and Mary Person, both of the Library’s Historical & Special Collections department. It will be on view in the Caspersen Room through Friday, August 5, 2011. The Caspersen Room is on the 4th Floor of the Library, and is open Monday – Friday from 9 to 5 (except for special events).  Please stop by to check out this wonderful exhibit!
