Students interested in combining legal education with advanced training in a field not covered by one of the Law School’s joint degree programs can consider completing the J.D. program concurrently with another graduate degree program.
In the past, students have arranged concurrent degree programs with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the Divinity School, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Students are responsible for arranging their own concurrent degree studies and must obtain approval at both schools for their programs. Students pursuing concurrent degrees are expected to comply with the Harvard Law School academic requirements and residency requirements for regular JD students, as outlined in the Handbook of Academic Policies. The Law School does not reduce residency and course credit requirements or tuition for concurrent degree students.
