Professor Dehlia Umunna is looking to hire six TAW Teaching Fellows to help with the Fall Trial Advocacy Workshop which will take place from September 3 – September 20, 2024.

Position Summary:
The Trial Advocacy Workshop is a three-week intensive course for upper-level law students. The course runs from 2pm – 9pm each day and culminates with students partaking in simulated jury trials. The Teaching Fellow will provide support to the Director of the Program, assigned Team Leader, workshop coordinator, visiting guests, and students.

Responsibilities:
• Regularly assist with staffing faculty/guests check-in table from 11:30am – 1pm.
• Participate in faculty orientation luncheon between 12pm – 2pm.
• Staff faculty/student dinner and evening demonstrations from 6pm – 7:30pm.
• Support assigned Team Leader with section’s needs from 2-4pm or 4-6pm.
• Take attendance and participation in TAW classes and exercises and notify Prof. Umunna and the workshop Coordinator of any absences. Attendance includes large group sessions and ensuring that each student gives at least two videotaped presentations.
• Assist with logistics of small groups and scheduling video review sessions.
• Respond to inquiries throughout the program and direct matters to the workshop Coordinator or Professor Umunna, if needed.
• Assist with program logistics and serve as a witness for workshop trials when needed.
• May be assigned other duties.

Compensation:
The compensation will be $20.50 an hour (20 hours per week, for the 3 weeks).
